A somewhat overcast day, and typical Clwydian drizzle, failed to dampen the brilliance of the Cilcain Craft group, as they hosted our Saturday Cafe,
A fine selection of cakes brought several separate Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme leaders from the Wirral into the Cafe as we set up at 11 a.m. – despite the setting-up flurry, they sat and enjoyed coffee. As the afternoon progressed, we saw spinning, the products of weaving, painting on silk, quilting, knitting, bag making and a wide variety of lovely handicrafts in action.
Kind donations to the bookstall (which reflects the voracious reading habits of our village) enabled us to cover the cost of raw materials – tea and coffee – for the cafe.
Thanks to all who helped to raise over £100 for your Village Hall: we look forward to a busy Saturday next week at our Cafe and Toy Exchange Day!
