Three shows a year are organised by the Entertainment Group, which is a small informal set of village people who put on and promote them. Each performance is of a professional standard.
The annual programme aims to provide considerable variety and will normally include music, drama and comedy. Performers and theatre companies are often on national tours with shows suitable for small venues and village halls, and some productions go on to the Edinburgh Festival or the West End. Many of the performers enjoy coming to Cilcain and ask to come back with their next production. One regular visitor comes from Canada.
Some shows receive invaluable financial support from the Arts Council of the Wales’ Night Out Scheme and others are dependent solely on ticket sales.
The group meets in the White Horse Inn and welcomes new members.
