Lambing time in Cilcain

Many thanks to Gwen Hardman for the following snapshot of lambing time in Cilcain. The photos were taken during a visit to Cefn Melyn Farm, Cilcain, by the children of Ysgol y Foel.
A farmer’s life is never a quiet one!
After clean straw for the many new mums and lambs, it was feeding and watering time, followed by bottle feeding one of the lambs that needed it – who then curled up for a big sleep. One slightly older lamb climbed on top of it’s mum for a better view of what was going on – and then nuzzled up with a thank you.
Ah-h-h! This morning was just the first round of the day, with repeats to follow later. Phew! Hats off to our farmers!
Many thanks from the project to Mary and Jonathan Williams for teaching us how it’s done – and for the great welcome!
