Ysgol y Foel – Active in the Community!

On Wednesday, July 19th, the children of Ysgol y Foel in Cilcain gave a presentation at the school about life in the village to show how it has changed over the past 100 years. Thanks once again to Gwen Hardman of Cilcain WI for sending this information and fantastic photos over to me:
Years 5 and 6 divided into pairs and small groups and researched changes in Cilcain in Transport, Farming, Pubs, Houses, Church and Chapel, Village Schools and Cilcain Show.
The children worked really hard, researching change, interviewing and videoing older people from the village and using Keynote in presentations of their work on Wednesday. Parents and interviewees were invited – and it was a fabulous afternoon.

This is one example of how Ysgol-y-Foel is active in our community – no wonder the school won the ‘Active in the Community’ award. Great staff and fabulous children!
Huge thanks from Cilcain WI.
