An update on Cilcain WIs ‘Century of Memories’ project – well done, ladies!
Cilcain WI was invited to give a Keynote presentation about our Century of Memories project at Clwyd Flint’s Spring Council Meeting on Tuesday 5th April. About 200 WI members attended – so a lot of people got to hear about what we’re doing.
Julie Summers, the author whose book “Jambusters” is the book the ITV series “Home Fires” is based on, gave the keynote speech at the afternoon session – and complimented our project at the beginning of her speech. A little feather in Cilcain WI’s cap!
We’ve also received a letter from Ken Skates, Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism in the Welsh Assembly, supporting our endeavour and complimenting Cilcain WI on what he called our “original initiative”. It’s obvious from his letter that he’s taken the time to understand the project – and it was really nice for us to be congratulated on what we’re doing.
