Saturday 20th November saw the Village Hall alive with reminiscence:
Lorna Jenner gained a wealth of local farming memories, and was loaned pictures and some valuable documents
Ann Baker gained masses of information to help identify names, faces and dates in Denis Kemp’s slideshow, shown by Sandra Eaton-Richards
Amanda Griffiths brought Parish Registers and Records from several past centuries
We saw the village map, carefully brought from its home and laid out on the hall floor by Julian Hughes and Derek May
Huw Parry’s arrival in the afternoon, with his re-edited sixties film footage of the village, his slideshow of village school pupils, and the School Punishment Book, added to the fun – and the nostalgia!
We watched a stylish and entertaining “Heather and Hillforts” video about the Clwydians, shown by Tim Salter
Thanks to everybody who made yesterday’s Village History Event so memorable:
In particular Glen Simkins, and Phil May, who made the event feel so welcoming.
Now what do we do next?
